Right, so almost everyone knows what Anime is nowadays and my house mates watch it almost exclusively but obviously for good reason since it is usually quite good. One of them recommended this movie to me and I cannot say that I was disappointed.

WARNING: There may be some spoilers if you have not seen this movie yet.

Your Name is an anime movie that came out in 2016 and it follows two main characters by the names of Taki and Mitsuha. It starts off with Mitsuha who lives in Itomori, a small town on the edge of a large lake, and how she is sick and tired of the small town and everyone in it, including her father the mayor. It soon become apparent that Mitsuha is having dreams of being a boy her age who lives in Tokyo but when she wakes up she doesn't remember what she has done the previous day. Through this we come to realize that Taki is a real boy and that they have been switching with each others bodies while they sleep leading them to believe that these have just been rather strange dreams until their friends from each life start to notice that they aren't quite themselves and mention things that they have done that they cannot remember at all.

They start to leave notes for each other so that they can find out what they have done the previous day and it carries on to show us how they try to find each other in the past and the present.

This movie has a gorgeous animation style which sort of reminds me of the older Disney animations but not quite the same as it is of course an anime. I loved the story line and the character development that you can see throughout the film, the ending was very satisfying as well which is good because I despise a terrible ending that leaves loose ends flying about in the breeze.

Definitely a must watch for anyone who liked Spirited Away or Howl's moving Castle which I admit are a bit main stream but I liked them quite a lot.

Let me know what you thought if you have watched this or if you want to.

Thanks for reading xx
