Spoilers. No doubt
The Kissing Booth 2 was released in July 2020 and I had serious jitters to watch it.
The film obtained a 5.9/10 on IMDB and a 27% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is slightly better than the previous film. (They are still lying. I loved it) This one was also directed by Vince Marcello.
Fun Fact: Most of the movie was filmed in South Africa, Cape Town as it has a similar climate and worked out cheaper than Santa Monica. The school scenes were shot at the University of Cape Town and the LAX scenes were shot at the Cape Town International Convention Center.

The movie sees the return of our favorite romantic couple of the previous movie, Elle (Joey King) and Noah (Jacob Elordi) who are still going strong despite him being in Boston and she still being at home while she finishes up her senior year of high school and third wheels it with Lee (Joel Courtney) and Rachel (Meganne Young).
On the first day of school, in classic Elle fashion, she embarrasses herself in front of the entire school when she discusses a leaked video of the new guy working out over the loud speaker. This of course leads to much ridicule from all her class mates as well as the new comer, Marco (Taylor Zakhar Perez) who finds it hilarious that Elle was caught out admiring his body like that.
At the same time, Elle is concerned about a certain super-model gorgeous girl who seems to be spending a lot of quality time with Noah in Boston, despite him telling her that Chloe (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) is just a friend.

While Noah and Elle discuss colleges she decides that she wants to apply to college in Boston, where Noah is, but in order to do so she needs some extra cash since her single dad won't be able to float the bill alone so she decides to enter a Dance Dance Revolution competition with Lee so that she can win the prize money and use it for college. Elle and Lee practice mercilessly every day for hours at a time until Lee injures his ankle and Elle is forced to ask for help from the 2nd best player on the high score list, none other than Marco, the bane of her existence currently.
All the misunderstandings and drama that you can think of then ensue and we are found wondering what will be the outcome? Will Noah and Elle be able to pull through...Or not?
I personally love these movies because of their fun-loving themes as well as their ability to address every day relationship issues and come up with solutions to the problems.
Definitely worth a watch if you enjoyed the first one.
Thanks for reading xx
