This is the last book in a trilogy that I quite enjoyed, beware the spoilers that may follow.
The Tearling is a distant idea of the perfect utopia. People who are not stronger or better nor weaker and lesser. The world is perfect and there are no drugs or violence to be found.
This is, of course, a flawed idea since we live in a suspicious world where walls are built to keep out phantom enemies and nobody is to be trusted.

In the book, a lot of complex ideas were tackled as to how you would need to go about making a perfect world and I appreciated that there were always flaws, I believe that human nature is too powerful for us to be completely peaceful. I didn't really like the way that the author spoke of religion though as she made it seem as if all faithful people are lunatics and that what they believe in is futile, this is my own opinion though and the way that faithful characters were written led me to agree with her in the space of these books.
I really liked the characters and the villains were written well in the way that in the end, I felt sympathy towards them, even though they had committed atrocities.
I didn't like the ending, purely based on how Kelsea's story ended. She deserved more after all that she sacrificed for her kingdom and the utopia that she wished to help perfect.
Overall, it was definitely worth a read, purely for the different views that it highlighted and delved into. I gave it a solid 4 stars, only because I was unhappy about the ending, besides that, it will stay with me, as all good books should.
Thanks for reading xx
