The Guild Hunter Series is a series of fifteen official novels (and quite a few short stories) written by Nalini Singh and published between 2009 and 2022 and has a further two books to be added (There is no current release date but I am genuinely excited to read them when they come out.)

Goodreads puts the books at a 4.5/5 stars and I think that I rated most of them between a four or five star.

I stumbled upon these books when I was still in high school and the first book honestly stuck with me for years until I finally got my hands on them last year and read them all, one after the other.

I am bitterly upset that I didn't know about the last two books that still need to be added, I detest waiting...

However, I am rather excited as well, I was rather surprised by the ending of the fifteenth book and I wondered if there weren't maybe more but since they aren't yet published I couldn't find them and I settled in to be disappointed by the ending.

Anyway, the series follows Raphael, the Archangel of New York who bumps heads with the guild hunter's Elena and sparks change the likes of which hasn't been seen before, not even by the Ancients who are super old angels that sometimes inhabit the world.

"If we fall, we fall together" -Elena Deveraux

Elena is deeply damaged from witnessing the murder of two of her sisters when she was younger and later finding her mother after she committed suicide, this leads to some trust issues in general and a deeply imbedded yearning to be tough and look after herself. She is a very strong character and takes no $hit from anyone.

I don't want to give away the plot from the whole series, but Elena and Raphael end up entangled and the future books follow the stories of Raphael's Seven which is his inner circle of compatriots and friends. The books are beautifully written and I adore how the author drew attention to the way that Elena deals with her trauma, it isn't just resolved after book one and she continues to struggle with throughout the series which I felt to be very truthful as some authors tend not to understand such complex emotions.

Definitely worth a read if you enjoy fantasy with vampires, angels and other strange beasties. Also spice, lots of it.

Thanks for reading xx
