Warning: Spoilers ahead...
The Addams Family came out in October of 2019, released by Universal Pictures, and has a modern take on the classic 1992 cartoon of the same name.
It centers around the spooky, kooky Addams family as they prepare for a visit from all their creepy relatives in anticipation of Pugsly's coming of age sabre dance but it all becomes rather dangerous for them when a realtor by the name of Margaux Needler , who closely resembles a plastic doll, sticks her nose where it doesn't belong and decides that the Addams family must go because they are ruining the view from her newly revamped town, Assimilation. While all the trouble is brewing, Wednesday decides she wants to be like everyone else and befriends Margaux's daughter, Parker, together they horrify their mothers as they try to decide who they really are inside.

The all star cast included Charlize Theron, Chloe Grace Moretz, Finn Wolfhard and even Snoop Dogg, who had a cameo as cousin It.
The movie had adequate animation that sort of reminded me of some Tim Burton films and some chuckle worthy dialogue that I quite enjoyed, coupled with the slight bit of back story that we got regarding Lurch and their old house, I would still have to say it was not as good as I expected it to be.
This film brought out some nostalgia from when I was a child so it could just be me projecting my old expectations onto this new film but I have to say that the critics agree with me.
Rotten Tomatoes has given the movie a 44%, where IMDB has given it 5.8/10 which is considerably lower than the original cartoons 7.1/10.
Regardless of what the critics and I say, it was still a sweet movie with great family moments and I would still recommend it to anyone who has seen anything else regarding the Addams Family.
Thanks for reading xx
