Stealing Snow is written by Danielle Paige and was published in September of 2016 by Bloomsbury USA. It has a 3.2/5 on Goodreads and a 3.6/5 on Barnes&Noble.

The story is basically a modern twist on the Hans Christian Anderson story of the snow queen. It is the first installation in a thrilling new series that revolves around a seventeen year old Snow who has been locked up in Whittaker Psychiatric for most of her life but she isn't as crazy as they think she is.
She is told of a magical land called Algid by a mysterious new orderly and once her only reason for happiness, Bale, is taken away from her she follows him to the mysterious Tree into Algid and hears the prophecy that she will change and save the land. Snow meets a river witch who teaches her to begin to use and understand her new found ice powers so that she can save her true love. While there she makes friends with two of the witches apprentices and hears of the Snow King and his evil Enforcer that tortures and hurts the citizens of the Algid. She then decides to entrust herself to Jagger, a thief who works for 'queen" Margot and who was supposed to have found her lost daughter in our world but found Snow instead.
Margot is the leader of the Robbers who 'steal faces' using magic and some part of another person to help them stay anonymous in their escapades. When Snow finds this out she is horrified but is convinced by Jagger to join the ranks of Robbers to assist in stealing a magical mirror from the Duchess. Through all of this sparks are insinuated between Jagger and Snow and she doesn't like the idea for obvious reasons but she cannot deny the feelings.

During their search for the Duchess' mirror, Snow finds out secrets that were supposed to have been kept from her until the Eclipse which is the breaking point of the prophecy where Snow will either join her father, the Snow King or rise up against him and rule forever as Queen.
This book was thrilling and filled to the brim with magic and intrigue. I couldn't put it down and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series which is expected to be published in April 2023.
Thanks for reading xx
