Sinbad: Legend of the seven seas is an animated adventure film that was released in 2003 by Dreamworks Pictures. It was directed by Tim Johnson and it has received a 6.7/10 on IMDB and a 45% on Rotten Tomatoes.
I honestly cannot believe that it has scored so low on certain platforms as I have probably watched it six or seven times (We used to by videos instead of getting proper TV.) and I absolutely love it. It makes you cry, it makes you laugh and the voice acting is amazing.

The film follows the story of the infamous pirate who, in this story, wants to steal the Book of Peace which is being transported to the city of Syracuse. He is surprised to find his childhood friend on board, Prince Proteus (Joseph Fiennes) who insists that Sinbad (Brad Pitt) cannot steal the book. During their argument the ship is attacked by Cetus, a sea monster that looks like a large squid and who works for a goddess, Sinbad and Proteus fight off the monster and it drags Sinbad down to the depths with him, he is then saved by Eris, the goddess of Discord (Michelle Pfeiffer) who makes a deal with Sinbad to steal the Book of Peace and bring it to her in exchange for his life.

Later on Sinbad fails to steal the book but Eris, anticipating this, disguises herself as him and steals it herself, which leads to Sinbad being arrested and sentenced to death. He claims that he did not steal the book but the council doesn't believe him but his friend does, so Proteus places himself under hostage in Sinbad's place so as to allow Sinbad to go and retrieve the book from Eris. As Sinbad and his crew set sail for Fiji instead Proteus' fiancee, Marina (Catherine Zeta-Jones) reveals that she has stowed away on the ship to ensure that Sinbad keeps his word to retrieve the book and she bribes him to ensure his motivation.
Together the crew fends off giant monsters who have been sent by Eris and rough seas and eventually make their way to the gates of Tartarus where they meet Eris and demand the book back.
I absolutely adore this movie, the voice acting is very well done and so is the animation. Definitely worth a watch or five.
Thanks for reading xx
