Okay, let me be honest, there is just so much going on in this series that I cannot sum it up in one post. I also haven't finished the entire series yet but I am trying very hard!

Outlander was released in 2014 and has five seasons so far. It has a 8.4/10 on IMDB and a staggering 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, it has also won the Critics Choice Television Award for Most Exciting New Series.

I am currently busy watching season 2 and I have just finished season one. Let me tell you, I have never before seen such excellent acting. If I didn't know any better I would think it was all real.

Outlander is about Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) and her husband, Frank (Tobias Menzies) who take a trip to Inverness Scotland for their anniversary in the year 1945. During their visit Claire is transported back in time to 1743 by the stones of Craigh na Dun. During her visit to 1743 Claire meets Frank's ancestor, Captain Jonathan "Black Jack" Randall (Also played by Tobias Menzies) who turns out to be so much worse than she ever imagined him to be when Frank spoke about him before. During her escape she runs into a bunch of rebel Highlanders from Clan Mackenzie who are being pursued by the redcoats and insist on her joining them to heal some of their wounded.

When they reach Castle Leoch the laird of Clan Mackenzie decides to keep Claire there as a healer and she spins a tale of having relatives in France. Later on she joins the rebels and Jaime Fraser (Sam Heughan) as they tour the Highlands in search of funds for the Jacobite cause, their every step is followed closely by Captain Randall as he holds a specific grudge against Claire and Jamie throughout the season. As Claire knows that the Jacobite cause is doomed, she tries her best to explain to Jamie so as to keep him safe from the terrible battle to come where almost all the Highlanders were wiped out.

I honestly adore this series and the acting is simply superb! I have never seen such real emotions in a series before, it really touched me and I would love to re-watch this when I'm done with it all. Highly recommended!

Thanks for reading xx
