1: Reading

I adore reading and I have ever since I was a child and I discovered that my imagination was as wide as the ocean is deep.

I have read everything that I could get my hands on since then and I am an avid book collector and a hopeful library builder.

I have super strict rules when people borrow my books, like you may not dog-ear the pages, because to me these books are made up of more than ink and pages, they are made up of knowledge and should be treated like gold because of that.

I honestly never thought I would be like this but my most prized possessions are my books and I won't apologize for treating them as such.

2: Watching movies/series

Just like everyone else I am prone to binge-watching an entire series in a day or two or re-watching my favorite movies again and again.

My favorites are Disney animations, usually strong female leads like Mulan and Brave but my all time favorite is Tangled.

When my sister and I were growing up we didn't have DSTV so we were allowed to buy DVD's and that was expensive so we only got one or two a month which resulted in us watching and re-watching the ones that we had over and over again until we could basically recite the entire movie together.

I'm not complaining about this as it has created some beautiful memories with my sister and we are still known to sing the Disney movie songs in the shower.

3: Writing

This one I have only had for a few years, mostly because I'm insecure about my abilities.

I do however love to write. My teachers and peers praised my writing skills as well as my vocabulary during school and I often found myself being rushed to finish an essay because six other people wanted me to edit theirs for them.

I am sure that my English teachers between grade 10 and 12 were worried about my home life after the essays I turned in there. The one was about a father who abused his daughter until the one day when she shot him in the head and the other was about a mental patient who escaped by stabbing an orderly but then was later caught and realized that she was dangerous and therefore pleaded guilty instead of pleading insanity.

I find that although I love to read about romance and happy endings, I am much better at writing about the horrifying things in life, as one of my favorite quotes says:

You write so beautifully, the inside of your mind must be a terrible place.

4: Obsessive Cleaning

This doesn't really count as a hobby but I do it so often it might as well be.

I don't think I have OCD but I do have moments where I'm like: "You know what, I should clean every inch of my room as well as the entire house."

Times like those are when my flat mates tend to avoid me as I once told them that I clean when I'm angry so they usually think I'm either angry or seething depending on how much I clean.

My mother has always done this as well so I figure I picked it up from her, although she used to do it when people came to visit and I basically feel that if you come to visit me at my house then you don't get special treatment beyond me making coffee...maybe.

5: Annoying my boyfriend

This is legit a hobby of mine.

I love annoying my boyfriend.

I know there will be a day when he eventually gets fed up with me and probably back-hands me but I will deserve it because damn, I can be annoying.

I know exactly what annoys him and I've almost made a game of how annoyed I can make him before he realizes what I'm doing.

I think I've gotten about a 7/10 once but that was easy work since he was already kind of annoyed and I know I can do better.

He says this is why domestic abuse happens (He is joking...hopefully)

Anyway, those are my top 5 hobbies, I hope you enjoyed reading about them and if you have any suggestions to replace 4 and 5 I would appreciate that.

Preferably before I get back-handed.

Thanks for reading xx
