You all know what I'm talking about, that moment when somebody is handling one of your books, or any book really, and they do something that just sets your teeth on edge.

Here are my top 5 book pet peeves.

1: Dog Ears.

This one irritates me regardless of the book. I don't care whose book it is or what book it is, it just makes me upset. Mostly because I view damage of books as a terrible crime, they hold knowledge, different types but still knowledge, and knowledge should be protected against all odds.

2: Spine Creases.

Spine creases upset me because I love to admire my book shelf and the books that adorn it, so when there are spine creases I see them immediately and it just upsets me. I know this one is kind of silly since I don't know many people that are bothered by it.

3: Bent or torn pages or covers.

This one has to be obvious to you, right?

4: Books in a series that come out in different sizes.

How, how am I supposed to stack my beautiful books if they are different sizes?

It just looks weird!

5: People who don't use bookmarks.

This one is more about the people who read, not the actual books, but I'm hoping you will forgive me.

This one links back to the bent pages and spine creases since I've seen someone put a book face down on a table and it was just irreparably damaged.

6: BONUS PEEVE!

I cannot stand it when series come out with different cover art. Why can't you all be the same? I want you to be uniform! Please?

I know a lot of people aren't this bad or holy about their books. I have bought almost all of my books on my own, I have nothing else that is so important to me in my house. I love books with a passion that I don't see in a lot of other people, not even in my bookstagram community, and I wonder if it is because of how I was raised or if it is just me, being me.

I love the places I can go and the lessons that I can learn, so I love the books that give that to me and I will protect them as best I can.

Thanks for reading xx
