Warning: Legit possible spoilers...

Let it snow was adapted from the book of the same name by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle. It is probably the first movie/book that John Green has been involved in that didn't make me cry (A lot)

The movie has gotten a 5.8/10 on IMDB and a 81% on Rotten Tomatoes. It was released onto Netflix in November of 2019.

The story is a romantic comedy that shows us the progression of a group of teenagers that live or are visiting Laurel Illinois as they try to confess their feelings to the people that matter and make important decisions for their futures. It starts off with Julie (Isabela Moner) who gets mistaken for paparazzi by Stuart Bale (Shameik Moore) and as she takes offense, he decides to make it up to her by taking her to the Waffle Town diner. There we are transferred to Dorrie's (Liv Hewson) story, she is just trying to get the girl she likes to acknowledge her while also having a row with her best friend, Addie (Odeya Rush), and her co-worker Keon (Jacob Batalon) is planning the best Christmas Eve party ever, according to him.

While his planning is taking place his friend Tobin (Mitchell Hope) is trying to find a way to tell his childhood friend, Angie (Kiernan Shipka), that he is in love with her.

Throughout the film we are made aware of how our words and actions can impact others and I really love that they didn't romanticize everything the way that films usually do with Christmas time and teenagers. There are not always happily ever afters.

I think one of my favorite, and tearful, parts of the movie is when Julie is talking to her mother and her mom says that your life is meant to be lived. I really think that a lot of young people forget that part when they finally get the chance to make their own choices.

There were also a lot of familiar faces in this movie, a lot of my favorite actresses are in here so I would definitely recommend it even if you just watch it to see Kiernan Shipka in a new role.

I loved this movie, can't wait to read the book. I cannot believe it took me so long to watch this movie. It just goes to show, you should always listen to your sister.

Thanks for reading xx
