Hotel Transylvania is one of my all time favorite movies ever, I have probably seen it at least ten times. I can almost recite it along with the voice actors.

The film came out in 2012 and has received a 7.1/10 on IMDB but a stunningly low 45% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The film begins when the fabled Dracula (Adam Sandler) opens a monster hotel where monsters can go to be safe after his wife, Martha (Jackie Sandler) is murdered by angry villagers out for revenge against the horrid beasts that monsters are, and he needs to keep his daughter safe.

Now his daughter, Mavis (Selena Gomez), is turning 118 and all her monster uncles and aunts are coming to the party but what she really wants is to see the world and find her zing, a soulmate to the monster world, but if Dracula has anything to do with it she will never leave the hotel, despite warnings from his friends that she needs to find her own way in the world.

Dracula's plans are in danger when a strange human man finds his way to the hotel.

Dracula is forced to disguise Jonathan (Andy Samberg) as a monster in order not to compromise his hotels safety. Johnny, Frankenstein's cousin on his left arms side, then proceeds to make things increasingly difficult for Dracula as he charms Mavis and all the other monsters while trying not to reveal his true self.

The film is a charming take on the classic story of Dracula which appeals to all ages and features the incredible voice acting of Sandler's usual comedy gang such as: Kevin James (The Monster), David Spade (Griffin), Steve Buscemi (Wayne) and CeeLo Green (Murray).

As previously mentioned, I adore this movie. It was one of the first movies that I ever watched with my boyfriend and I just remember how he quietly indulged my child-like enjoyment. Every time I watch this movie I am reminded of the beginning, the beginning of my very own zing.

This movie is a must for any family that likes monsters and comedy, it still makes me laugh every single time and isn't it just a beautiful way to look at love?

Thanks for reading xx
