WARNING: Spoilers (Although this film came out last year and I'm sure we're all up to date)
Charlie's Angels is a 2019 reboot of the old franchise which used to star Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu as the first angels that I ever knew of. The film has struggled a bit with the critics as it only got a 4.7/10 on IMDB and a 52% on Rotten Tomatoes where as the previous films received between 42-68%, needless to say the films haven't been very popular with the critics.

I however quite enjoyed the reboot.
The movie begins with first introducing two of the angels to us as well as an amazing array of Bosley's which star Elizabeth Banks (Who also directed and wrote the film), Patrick Stewart and Djimon Hounsou among others.
We become aware of our main female character, Elena (Naomi Scott), who is the main engineer on her company's new innovation-Calysto-which was created to provide environmentally friendly energy to the entire world but Elena tells her boss that it isn't ready as it can be hacked and used as a weapon instead.
When Elena's boss doesn't acknowledge the threat, she takes her concerns to the Townsend Agency and Sebina (Kristen Stewart) and Jane (Ella Balinska) are sent in along with one of the Bosley's.

The thing that I really love about these films is the way that they have always portrayed women.
Women who are strong and independent in their own way, women who can kick ass and still be beautiful, women who use whatever weapons they have at their disposal to get the job done, women who are underestimated because of who they are and they proved every single one of those doubters wrong.
Women are often portrayed as weak in Hollywood type films and I really love that films are beginning to shy away from that kind of stereo-typing.
Elizabeth Banks is an incredible women for writing, directing and starring in this film and I believe she deserves some recognition.
I appreciated the acting and I also feel like I should mention how well Kristen Stewart acted as a lot of people think she cannot act because of the Twilight series, however she is a spectacular actress.
I really hope anyone who loved the old movies will give this one a chance despite the low ratings.
Thanks for reading xx
