Angus, Thongs And Perfect Snogging

This movie was hilarious and beautiful just like every coming of age movie should be. I adored the characters and the actors as well as the plot.

The film was released in 2008 and it was the first Nickelodeon film that got a 13PG rating, it is based on the novels by Louise Rennison and the movie got a 6.3/10 on IMDB.

Angus, thong and perfect snogging is told from the perspective of Georgia Nicolson (Georgia Groome) who is turning fifteen and is struggling to deal with the stress of embarrassing parents and siblings, not having breasts and possibly never having a boyfriend.

She and her friends go on a mission to get themselves boyfriends and their first day back at school Georgia and her best friend Jas (Eleanor Tomlinson) get a glimpse of the new students at their school and become utterly love struck by the brothers who they promptly christen sex-gods. Jas sets her sights on Tom (Sean Bourke) and Georgia helps her get noticed by him while also attempting to catch the eye of his brother, Robbie (Aaron Johnson).

Together the girls get into massive mess ups and misunderstandings. Robbie starts going out with Georgia's arch nemesis, Wet Lindsey (Kimberley Nixon), and Georgia becomes determined to show Robbie how terrible she is in every way. She somehow gets two other boys to like her through all her escapades and she struggles to get out of the web of lies that she has created in order to get to her one true love.

As all coming of age films show us, the boy isn't everything and as long as you're true to yourself he will notice you. Don't sacrifice the relationships of your friends and families in order to get the guy, it never works!

I thought this movie was adorable and it really reminded me of all young girls as we all grow up. The way we stress about every little pimple and hair that isn't supposed to be there and how all we really want is to feel beautiful, unfortunately we need a movie like this to show us that we aren't going to feel pretty just because the guy says so, we need to feel it and know it first before anyone else will see it.

It may be old, but it is worth a watch, especially if you're between the ages of 14 and 25 and a girl.
