I recently watched this movie on #Netflix because my sister recommended it. Since it was her I knew it had to be tragic in some way and I was not disappointed. I won't lie to you, this movie is heart breaking, from start to finish but it is amazing and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has lost someone before.
Warning: Spoilers. So many spoilers.
All the Bright Places was adapted from the book of the same name by Jennifer Niven. I have not read the book yet but I plan to. I don't know about the rest of you but I prefer to watch the movie first since it always disappoints me noticing all the differences between the movie and the book.

Anyway, this film centers around Violet Markey who has recently lost her sister in a car crash. It has changed her dramatically to the point where she won't get in a car anymore and she hardly ever leaves the house with the exception of school. On the anniversary of her sisters death she is found by Theodore Finch as she stands on the bridge where her sister died and thinks of jumping.
He stands up with her, forcing her to get down, from then on he sticks to her like glue and determines to restore her to her former self.

He takes her on adventures to different locations in their home state and teaches her to look at and appreciate the small things in life. Finch helps her to get over her fear of cars and takes her to a home built roller coaster in someones back yard where she learns that incredible things can happen if you try hard enough.
During this teaching they end up falling in love and we notice that Finch has problems of his own. Violet tries her best to help but in the end the only person who can help Finch is himself.
I adore this movie and I'm sure I'd love the book too. The plot is one of the few that I've seen that accurately describes grief and the need to want it all to go away. I loved the way that they showed that Finch was never alone, only on the inside, and that he was always loved.
If at any point you feel the need to just end all the pain, please, please get help. There are always people who are willing to help and there will always be someone left behind to miss you and experience the world without you.
Thanks for reading xx
