The Blessings We Get

Today is Wednesday, it is also the first day this week that we have had warm water in the house and any water upstairs, since Sunday.
Now to me this is not a massive thing since I have been without water before, trust me it is not fun but it is do-able, to others this may seem like the end of the world.
Getting to my point soon...

Today I had a warm shower in the safety of my own bathroom in my own apartment and it was such a relief and as I stood there struggling with the water pressure and the heat and whatnot I thought to myself, wow I am so self absorbed.
I haven't had a proper shower since Sunday and I am complaining where there are children and entire families who don't even have water to drink, never mind bathe in.
After this I just began to revel at how blessed I am.
I have a job (Which is amazing in these uncertain times of Covid-19).
I have a roof over my head, a bed to sleep in with comfy blankets and pillows and even teddy's.
I have food in my fridge, I have a fridge in my house!
I just am so thankful for what I have today and I honestly wish that I felt this way every day because it is so amazing to realize how lucky you are.
Another point that I would like to make is that there are different levels of blessings.
I feel blessed for having warm water today but somebody else might be blessed by a car or even a job.
We all need and want different blessings to others (Of course we all want to be rich and never want for anything) but this does not mean that we are not blessed.
Just because I don't own a car and you do, does not mean that you are more blessed than I am.
When the trend of #blessed came out it irritated me to no end because how and why are these people bragging about all their blessings?
I think I understand now though.
When you are blessed you want to share that along with your happiness on the matter, we just forget sometimes to not be envious of others, we can sometimes be blinded by what we don't have and in turn end up missing what we do have.
In the end I just thought I would remind everyone today that we are all blessed and we should be grateful for that and what we have.
Thanks for reading xx
