Firstly I would just like to say Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there.
We would be lost without you.
So today is Mother's Day and obviously I was thinking about mothers. My mama is definitely one of the best out there but I'm sure we all say that, unless she really isn't.
I found out today that the modern Mother's Day was first celebrated in 1908 in USA and was invented by a woman by the name of Anna Jarvis and she lead the movement for it to be a holiday after her mothers death but later despised the day due to the commercialization of it.
I think that is terribly sad, because this day is such a special one to me in recent years. I'll be honest, I don't do much on this day usually but I try to make it special for my mom and for the other women that I love and look up to.
After reading about Anna Jarvis, I have realized that we often forget that this day isn't just for our own mothers. It's also for the women who inspire us, for the women who love and support us, regardless of blood relations.

I adore my mother, don't get me wrong, she drives me insane but that doesn't mean I don't love her. How could I not? She is the one person in this world who has always loved me, since before I even existed and I think that's amazing.
I don't have any children yet, but I did help raise my little sister and sometimes I think I can feel a little twinge of the love a mother must have for her child and I just don't think anyone who isn't a mother can comprehend such deep, endless love.
If you don't show your mother how much she means to you as often as you can then I think that is terrible, and I know we don't ever want to talk about this, but one day she might be gone and then you will regret every single minute that you didn't tell her.
Happy Day of Mother's and Loving Women.
Thanks for reading xx
