For the King is an RPG (Role-Playing Game) that was designed by Colby Young and developed by IronOak Games and Warp Digital Entertainment and it has a 9/10 on Steam as well as a 75% on PC Gamer.

You can play this game solo or co-operatively both online or locally.
I first played it with two other people and it was quite fun. We spent at least four hours on it and I barely noticed the time passing.
You start off the game by picking the type of character that you want to play which will determine what kind of weapon you will be using during the game. I have only used the bard/minstrel so far but I quite like it. The bard attacks by playing his lute and can also encourage other players on the same team which can give them a higher chance of damaging the opponents.
After choosing and customizing your characters, you can then choose which type of adventure you would like to play. I have only played the main adventure (For the King) and the Frost Adventure.

Once you have chosen the adventure you then take turns moving around the map based on a "roll" which determines how many hexagonal spaces you can move at a time.
You also encounter enemies that you need to defeat to carry on with the adventure, every time you defeat an opponent you receive gold and possibly a few other items, such as weapons or magical books. You can either keep them, pass them on to a team mate or discard them. If you have no use for the objects then you can collect them and sell them at a town market later on.

Of course just like all games, you have a health bar as well as stats for intelligence, strength, vitality, awareness, talent, speed, resistance, armor, luck and evasion. The higher certain stats are the better you can complete certain tasks.
Since I play a minstrel I usually have a high talent, intelligence and awareness stat. You can occasionally encounter a question mark on a space which means it could hold something interesting if you land on it. It can be something simple, like looting a dead warrior, or it can be a bit more complicated where you might need to have a high awareness or strength stat to complete the task and get a reward.
Personally I am quite enjoying this game since it combines turn-based combat, strategy and rogue like elements. It is definitely a great couch party game to play or to play locally.
Definitely worth a try for new players who want to try something different.
Let me know in the comments if you've tried this game or would like to.
Thanks for reading xx
