I only recently started playing this game but it was so much fun and so simple that I've gotten quite far and I have been enjoying it immensely.

Dead Cells is a roguelike action platformer game that has been inspired by Metroidvania-style games and has been developed and published by Motion Twin. It was on early access for about a year before being released in August of 2018.

The game play involves the player taking control of the form of a prisoner's corpse with slime for a head, as he seems to be missing his original one. You start out in a dungeon where a giant skeleton lies with a spear in its chest and when moving forward you find out that you have been trying to escape for a while now, clearly with no luck in actually achieving your goals.

The player then has to progress through the dungeons by killing enemies of various talents and picking up their 'cells' as well as gaining gold to buy new weapons and possibly picking up scrolls to level up either their weapons damage or their survival rate based on parry's and dodges. There are glowing portals which can be found all over the dungeons which the player can use to teleport themselves between different portals, but only ones that have already been found. This can come in handy if you need to escape a particularly brutal enemy or if you simply want to go back and explore a certain corridor a bit more thoroughly.

At some point the player will come across the one of two doors which can either lead outside onto the island itself which will hold more enemies or down into the sewers of the dungeons. Both of those options are more difficult than the dungeons themselves and I have yet to succeed in conquering them, however I am enjoying this game quite a lot. It is easy enough for a beginner to be good at the start but challenging enough not to become boring.

I really like this game and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try a platform game, the story line is also interesting and I love the art style.

Definitely worth a shot.

Thanks for reading xx
